Over the last few years Paranormal Investigation technology has evolved.

From those early days of using Ouija Boards in the late 1800s to 56rpm blank records in the 1940s, dual spool tape recorders and radios that had to be set between broadcasting networks in the 1950's.
Now in present day investigation teams use a wide variety of equipment such as Spirit boxes, highly sensitive digital voice recorders and (SLS) Structured Light Sensor cameras ect.
Blow is a list of what we here at Haunted Scotland - We Are Not Alone use on our investigations.

Structured Light Sensor (SLS) Camera.

An X-Box 360 KINECT sensor which is attached to a windows tablet projects over one million small infrared beams over a wide field of view. The sensor recognises changes in depth as and when each of the beams are broken allows the device to build a 3D model of its view. It is designed to recognise Skeletal and Facial characteristics, which the device uses to display on the tablet. Figures are easily identified as human or spirit.

When a living being is captured you can see the persons features your pointing the camera at, with their skeletal structure as a stick figure. When a spirit is captured you can only a skeletal stick figure with no visible outline.

Rem Pod

A Rem Pod is a small device that activates when spirits get close enough to set it off. There are many different designs, the one we use has a retractable antenna, as well as showing you when a spirit is close with lights. It can also be used as a communication device by asking yes/no question. when a spirit answers the pod will light up and a buzzer will sound, this sound will change pitch depending on how much energy the spirit is giving off.

Rem Bear

Rem Bears are trigger objects to communicate with child spirits.  Just like the rem pod a spirit has to touch the toy to activate it. When touched it makes a high pitched sound and will light up to indicate a child spirit is interested in playing with it .

Cameras

A must have for evidence is video recording and still photo equipment. We at Haunted Scotland - We Are Not Alone use both night vision and full spectrum hand held,  body video cameras as well as on occasion use a still photo full spectrum camera.

Laser Grid Pen

These are a perfect took for visual verification of spirits within a location. When powered up the pen focuses 1000s of dots onto a wall. When a spirit walks between the device and wall they break the beam which results in a shadow being able to be physically seen moving in that location.

EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon)

As early as the 1940s Paranormal Investigators have been recording what is believed to be the disembodied voices of spirits. It is thought that they can use white noise to communicate with the living world, Now in the 21st century the best equipment for this are Spirit Boxes, highly sensitive digital recorders or geo ports.

K2 EMF Detector

A must in every Paranormal Investigators tool kit. A K2 metre can detect Spirit energy of up to 20 milligals, and just as the Rem Pod, it can be used as a basic commendations device for yes/no questions.

Multi Metre

These are multifunctional devices, The detect EM energy just in the same way as K2 metres, and just like the Rem Pod is has a built in thermometer. when a spirit is close enough you will see a digital readout of both temperature and milligals

Cat balls

Fun little gadgets and a must for your box of visual tricks.  Cat balls are touch sensitive and meant as pet toys.  You can place them anywhere and leave them switched on. When a  spirit touches them the balls light up and start flashing, You can use them to ask yes and no type questions,

Ouija Board

This is probably the most well known tool for communicating with the spirit world. It is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0-9, the words "yes", "no", occasionally "hello" and "goodbye", along with various symbols and graphics. It uses a planchette (small various-shaped piece of wood or plastic). Most common shape used for a planchette is a heart. Used as a movable indicator to spell out messages during a séance. Participants place their fingers on the planchette, and it is moved about the board to spell out words. The Ouija Board first became popular around 1890. PLEASE NOTE A Ouija Board should only me used by people who are experienced investigators, they are not toys and can be very dangerous if not used properly,

Dowsing Rods

Dosing rod have been around since the 1500's. first used to locate water, metals and mineral's. Less than 100 years later it was thought they could also be used to communicate with the spirit world, and soon after labelled as satanic by a Jesuit called Gasper Schott. They are used as a basic form of communication by moving outwards or crossing over for yes or no questions.

Walkie Talkies

No team should be without walkie talkies while doing an investigation, when splitting up the hunters need to be in constant commination for both safety reason and to also advise on any evidence manifesting so others can go to that location. The best ones to use are those with built in earpieces so not to interfere with any  sensitive audio recording equipment.

Rem Carousel

Perfect trigger object for child spirits. This device will light up when EM energy is within touching it

Table Tipping

Small foldable TV dinner tables are perfect for these experiments. A minim of 2 people put the fingertips on the edge of the table barely toughing it, and ask for a spirit to move the table off the floor.

Torch

No investigator should be without a wide range of torches, from basic white light. Too also carrying ones with red, green, blue and ultra violate high lumen, to keep you safe in the darkest of places.
